Project Coordinator
Nargies Hassanpur
MS
As a project coordinator, Nargies coordinates the development of plain language materials and comprehensive toolkits across one of our largest community health initiatives, ensuring that community members can access and understand information to improve their own, and their community's health.
Nargies was drawn to health literacy because it allowed her to combine her expertise in clinical research and science with health education, so people can make more informed healthcare decisions. Having been on both sides of the table — as a health professional and patient — she understands the importance of clear health communication.
At HLM, Nargies coordinates the development of plain language materials and comprehensive toolkits across one of our largest community health initiatives. She is involved in just about every stage of the content creation process, including engaging with clients to understand community needs, conducting background research, developing outlines, coordinating material production, reviewing drafts for accuracy and quality, and finalizing materials.
Before joining HLM, Nargies worked in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on patient engagement and advocacy, where she first discovered health literacy and plain language principles. She has worked in various university settings as a clinical trial coordinator and a research kinesiologist, and has experience interacting with many different populations and diseases. Her past work has also included performing clinical assessments, coordinating multiple clinical trials, and communicating with patients and families. Working so closely with patients and their families, she saw the need for clear communication so patients can make informed health decisions.
Nargies has a Master of Science (MS) in Exercise Science and a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
